Pickleball Ratings Guide
Why do we need a Rating for each Player?
Even just for social open play, having an accurate rating for each player helps us arrange open play sessions by level. This will ensure everyone can have fun and be challenged within a range, to improve their skills.
If you want to play in tournaments, then having an accurate rating also lets you compete with people with similar skills.
Changing Your Rating
You must evaluate yourself and submit the result using our rating guide to rating@lexingtonpickleballclub.org . Make sure you send us a copy of the filled rating guide.
When I request a change of Rating, when will it be implemented?

What contributes to a Rating Level?
There are a number of factors that determines a player’s skill and rating:
Knowledge of the game: scoring (traditional, rally), basic and esoteric rules
Knowledge of rotation systems and use of paddle racks
Variety of shots: forehand, backhand, volley, dink, overhead, lob, reset, drop
Consistency of serve, return, and shots
Number of unforced errors
Length of sustainable rally
Court positioning and working with partner, playing tactically
Ability to play hard and soft rallies
