LPC 2024 Outdoor
Season Pass FAQ

What does an LPC Outdoor Season Pass allow me to do?

  • Sign up for leveled open play pickleball offered through LPC on Lexington courts from May 1. - Oct. 31, 2024, for only $70 (non-Lex resident $90). The cost covers what LPC is paying LexRec for the advanced scheduled reservations. LPC will offer 5 three-hour sessions each week.

  • Play leveled open play-style pickleball in Lexington.

  • Play pickleball in Lexington without reserving courts. Otherwise to reserve courts in Lexington it requires a LexRec membership for $170 or $15/court reservation.

  • Have priority registration for indoor pickleball organized by LPC @ Grace Chapel on Tuesdays during the summer and throughout next year’s indoor season.

How will the open play sessions offered through LPC work?

  • Starting May 1, LPC Outdoor Season Pass holders will be able to sign-up to play pickleball at the days and times offered by LPC for this purpose on PlayTimeScheduler.

  • The sessions will be leveled so that you will be playing with people at similar level to yourself.

  • Open play style is where the full group warms up with dinks and then plays matches up to 11 points (9 if there are a lot of people waiting). Losers leave the court and put their paddles in the “row” to play next, winners split up and continue playing.

  • LPC will limit the number of players who can sign up for each session to reduce waiting times.

  • Sessions will not be held in inclement weather.

Are there opportunities to play indoors @ Grace during the summer?

YES! LPC will continue to offer group pickleball open play when time is available outside of their Summer programs at Grace Chapel through the summer. LPC members have priority in reserving these sessions. The cost is $15/open play. The cost covers the rental fee LPC pays Grace Chapel.

Does the Outdoor Pass include open houses?

Yes, LPC will schedule special events throughout the outdoor season including open house sessions to encourage more players to meet each other and play.

Where are the courts in Lex?

  • 2 tennis courts at Valley St. may be reserved for pickleball, nets provided.

  • 3 tennis courts at Clarke may be reserved for pickleball, nets provided.

  • 2 tennis courts at Adams may be reserved for pickleball with lines and nets provided.

  • Pickleball is not allowed on the High School courts (Gallagher).

Can I just show up and play pickleball on Lex courts when I wish?

YES, The courts in Lexington are open to the public. HOWEVER:

  • If a person/people show up and state that they have a reservation and you are playing but do not have a reservation, then you must let the party with the reservation have the court, even if you are in the middle of a game.

  • If a person/people are playing tennis on a court that is reservable only for pickleball (ALL Adams courts and Court #3 at Clarke), they may do so unless a pickleball party with a reservation shows up.

  • Tennis players may not reserve the courts at Adams or Court 3 at Clarke to play tennis.

  • Pickleball players may not reserve the courts at Gallagher to play pickleball.

What is the LexRec Pickleball Pilot Project?

  • Due to the demand for pickleball, the town is looking at ways to ensure the sport has appropriate access to the courts.

  • To better understand the demand for pickleball and to collect data to inform future decisions and investment, the town agreed to provide the 2 Adams courts (4 total courts for pickleball) and Court #3 at Clarke (2 total courts for pickleball) for pickleball by reservation only.

  • To help the town understand the demand for pickleball LPC highly recommends that you reserve those courts every time you play, and to reserve the other courts at Clarke or the 2 courts at Valley St. if you plan to play pickleball there.

  • Pickleballers who simply show up to play without a reservation go uncounted and that affects the count for demand.
