FAQ for Pickle Fest 2025
-
Will players need to be available for the entire day?
Games will take place between 1:00 - 5:00pm on Sunday, June 8th. The Awards Presentation and BBQ Celebration will begin around 5:00pm after all games have been played.
We plan to start games with lower level players first and progress to higher levels throughout the day, with highest level players finishing before the Awards Presentation and BBQ at 5:00pm. Once registration closes on May 15th, we will be in touch to give registered players an estimate of the start time for the games at their skill level.
Ideally you would play your games against opponents within your skill level pretty much back to back, or as soon as the next court/team is available. So potentially you might play all your games within a 60-90 minute period and ideally would cheer on your teammates of other skill levels the rest of the time.
While we hope that all players would be present throughout the entirety or most of the PickleFest, we also understand that potential schedule conflicts may occur, and that players may come and go throughout the afternoon. And if that’s the case, we hope that players (and their family/friends) will return for the Awards Presentation and BBQ Celebration at 5:00pm.

How do teams earn points to win a team trophy?
Each Team will be composed of doubles teams of players with multiple skill levels. Your doubles match will be against a team with the same skill level as you. Teams have opportunities to accrue wins in all of the skill levels.
Each game won in any skill level = 1 point for your Team. Trophies go to the Teams that win the most points at the end of the day. So for example, if a doubles team in a 2.5-2.75 skill level from Team A wins a game, they earn 1 point for their Team. If a doubles team in a 3.25-3.5 bracket from Team A wins a game, they also earn 1 point for their Team. So then, Team A will have accrued 2 points.

How many games will I play?
We’re guaranteeing at least 3 games per person with the assumption that we’ll have at least 4 Teams. Total games per person could be more than 3 depending on how many people register. Registration deadline is May 15, so we’ll have a better idea after that date how many games you will play.
-
Are all games mixed doubles or same gender doubles?
This is a co-ed event, so games could be either mixed or same gender.
-
Will game results be entered into DUPR?
No, games at PickleFest will NOT be entered into DUPR.
-
Can my family and friends attend the BBQ at the end of the day?
Yes! The more the merrier! Friends and family are welcome to come cheer on your team, and stay for the BBQ (at no extra cost).
